My great, great grandfather
Andrew M. TINKER was last found living with his family in the 1900
US Census in Wonewoc, WI. He died the next year in Union Center. The
attached picture was loosely stuck in a recently
discoverd album belonging to my grandmother (Mary Foster Tinker, married
to Clinton TINKER, grandson of A. M. TINKER). The inscription on the back
of the photo is "Tinkers - July 23, 1911." This may be a photo of some of
the members of this family, but I have not been able to identify them. Perhaps
someone can help. Thanks, Chris Brinkley, Vallejo, CA. 05/04/01
Here are some unknown family

I have a
civil war reunion picture that I am trying to
identify the people in it. The picture has been in my husband's family for
years and according to family legend one of the men in the picture is William
Visgar, my husband's great grandfather and one of William's brothers
who also served in the Civil War, but we don't know which of the brothers
-- supposedly there were six brothers who served in the Civil War. We have
checked the GAR museum in Madison, but didn't get anywhere. Since William
lived in Wonewoc, we thought maybe someone else there had a copy of this
picture and a list of names to go with it. The inscription in the lower right
corner reads Geo. W. Bell Post No. 53 G.A.R.

Known and Unknown pictures
related to these surnames: ST. CLAIR, JUDD, NILES, MARTIN, LEWIS, GREEN,
FULLER, FESSY, CHADWICK, BARNETT, WOODWORTH, ST. CLAIR, WATTS, SHANKS,
MCCLELLAN/MCCLELLAND, MOREY/MORRY, ANDREWS, PARKER, JOHNSON, TAYLOR, GREEN,
VANWELL, KLETT, ELSTON, GRANGER, LEASE
From album owned by JOHN WESLEY ST. CLAIR b. 1837 PA d. 1882 Seven Mile Creek,
Juneau co.,and MARY ANN JUDD b. 1847 Canada d. 1932 Narrow Prairie, Sauk
Co.
(1) the pictures of his Capt. and wife. Co. K, 6th WI- Who are they?
(2) Mary Niles -taken in 1860s I would guess--Who is she?
(3) John with 6 of his army companions, possibly taken after the war-Who
are they?
(4) pictures of MR. MARTINS AUNT AND MR. MARTINS UNCLE--who are
they exactly. When John Wesley died Oct. 1882, Mary Ann, left with 5 children,
married Dec. 1882 to THADDEUS MARTIN, widower of ELIZABETH LEWIS of Shelburne,
VT who had at least 6 kids, HERBERT in MT, Miss EMMA of Chicago; Mrs. (HATTIE)
F.S. BARNETT of LaValle; LILLIAN, EDWIN of Reedsburg; and BYRON/WALTER of
Reedsburg. So this aunt and uncle are THADDEUS.
(5) Pictures of HATTIE MARTIN and I believe her husband, FRANK BARNETT. Hattie
d/o Thaddeus
(6) EMMA MARTIN who moved to Chicago and was unmarried 1875
(8) HERB MARTIN s/o of Thaddeus and Elizabeth Lewis Martin went to MT
(9) Mary Ann and Thaddeus had a daughter JENNIE MARTIN b. 1886 m. ROGER WOODWORTH
and moved to Chicago. Have a family picture with her in it. What happened
to her?
(10) Pictures of WILLIE FULLER and of NELLIE FULLER 39 IL and DORA FULLER
57 France. Dora (husband) and Nellie lived next door to John W. St. Clairs
sister, OLIVIA CORDELIA ST. CLAIR COLEMAN at Seven Mile Creek in 1880. Nellie
assisted in the delivery of Mary Anns grandsons. It appears that Dora
died and Nellie remarried to WILLIAM H. WATTS by 1884 and is now a widow
62 living in Reedsburg next door to MARY ANN JUDD ST. CLAIR MARTIN. WM. WATTS
and OLIVER GRANGER of Summit signed Marys pension application in 1884.
Oliver is the father of MYRTLE BELLE GRANGER, the future wife of Marys
son LESLIE ST. CLAIR. Oliver and wife also in Barney Cemetery.
(11) ELIZABETH FULLER d/o Dora and Nellie with probably a picture of husband
MR. CHADWICK
(12) Picture of MARY ANN JUDD ST. CLAIR, NELLIE FULLER and ANNA B. GREEN
--Who was Anna Green b. about 1828? I dont pick her up on any census
but she did sign a statement in 1884 that she was at the birth of 3 of Mary
Anns children.
(13) 2 pictures of JOE FESSY b. 1846 VTand one of wife, PHILENIA/PAULINA
b. 1846 OH and living next to WILLIAM JUDD s/o brother of Mary Ann and wife
MARGARET SHANKS in 1870. In 1905 Joe and Paulina are now living in Reedsburg.
Who are they. Were they just neighbors or were they related somehow?
(14) Family picture of JOEL MCCLELLAN b. 1821 s/o CHARLES MCCLELLAND and
RHODA MOREY and wife ANNA MCCLELLAN, children AMORETTA b. 1845 PA and CHARLES
b. 1847 PA.
Joel on the 1850 Medina, Dane Co. census living next to his uncle, STEPHEN
MOREY JR. b. 1794-9 RI.
(15) Picture of DAN MILLERS aunt POLLY. John Wesley St. Clairs
sister Melinda m. second Daniel/David Miller. They are buried in the Barney
cemetery. Dan was also in Co. K, 6th WI with John. Who were his parents?
(16) tin type of DELLA ANDREWS the d/o RUSSELL ANDREWS and CAROLINE NOBLE.
I believe that Caroline was the d/o MARY JUDD NOBLE s/o SETH NOBLE thus a
niece of Arzas. In 1860 the Andrews lived 2 houses from Joshua St.
Clair and wife RHODA MOREY. The andrews are buried in Big Creek cemetery,
Sauk co. I think that Caroline was the sister of ALEXANDER JUDD NOBLE ,who
m. MARTHA LEASE, who also served in Co. K. 6th WI and is buried a few feet
from his uncle Arza Judd in Barney Cemetery.
(17) DICK KLETT perhaps two pictures of him. He is on the 1860 Mauston/LaValle
census--father JOHN KLETT 30 or 50 years old b. Germany and son RICHARD KLETT
16 Germany. Is he or his wife somehow related to the St. Clairs??? Or when
his only relative died, he went to work or live with or near the St. Clairs
and a bond was built up between them? Several of the letters between John
Wesley and his father mention their concern and search for Dick during the
war. He did survive and married MARY ELSTON b. 1845 IN/OH and had IDA, MINNIE,
AMANDA, ELLA, ANNIE, ERNEST and FRED A. KLETT b. 1887 WI. In 1905 all of
these Kletts were living in LaValle and Baraboo. I really would like to find
out more about this family.
(18) BILL VANWEL/VANWELL have never found a clue to him
(19) FAY PARKER -no idea who he is was he related to I. G. PARKER of Mauston
along with JAMES TAYLOR who witnessed Johns signature on his pension
application?
(20)DR. JOHNSON--was he related to the HIRIAM JOHNSON of Summit who witnessed
the signing of the widows application?
(21) HARVEY MOREY/MORRY/MORY. Is he RHODA MOREYs grand nephew through
brother, STEPHEN MOREY? Stephen had these sons: SILAS b. 1820 PA, and WILLIAM
b. 1825 PA. William had sons all born in Dane Co. WI. CHESTER b. 1847 WI,
NEWELL b. 1851, ALFRED b. 1853, HARVEY b. 1857, and ORLANDO b. 1859. Really
would like to get this Morey family figured out.

Andersonville and then getting smallpox in a Union hospital. John was a close
neighbor who was among the first 100 men who joined within 5 days and made
up Co. K, 6th WI. Their group was named the "Lemonweir Minute Men" and were
part of the most famous Union units "The IRON BRIGAIDE". He died in 1883
and she then married THADDEUS MARTIN
Notes:
(1) (See FULLER information with child #6 above) One of the very closest
friends of Mary Ann St. Clair was Nellie Fuller w/o Dora Fuller. I have many
pictures of them and notations in letters about Nellie visiting Mary Ann.
Were they just neighbors and friends or was there a family connection?
I have pictures of WILLIE FULLER and of NELLIE FULLER 39 IL and DORA FULLER
CLAIR. Oliver and wife also in the Barney Cemetery.
Also a picture of ELIZABETH FULLER d/o Dora and Nellie with probably a picture
of husband MR. CHADWICK and of MARY ANN JUDD ST. CLAIR, NELLIE FULLER and
ANNA B. GREEN --Who was Anna Green b. about 1828? I dont pick her up
on any census but she did sign a statement in 1884 that she was at the birth
of 3 of Mary Anns children.
(2) St. Clair/Sinkler/Sinclair line researched back to 600 AD. Everyone on
this St. Clair line has an ancestor named Prince Henry St. Clair who arrived
on 2 June 1398 in Nova Scotia to set up a new colony of Knights Templars.
His story was recorded in the letters of his Venitian navigator, Nicolo Zeno,
and in the legends of the MiKmaq Indians plus many other proofs. Children
in NS, VT, and MA are now studying about this event as a fact of history.
And there are already 3 monuments to Prince Henry in NS. Anyone with a drop
of Scottish blood must after 600 years, have an ancestor among the 200-300
men that went on this voyage.
