JUNEAU CO., WI. - MARRIAGE RECORDS
WI Historical Society - Wisconsin law required counties to register these events since 1852, but only a limited number were actually recorded by the county before 30 Sep 1907. After a marriage was recorded at the county level, the local officials would normally forward that information to the state. The Historical Society owns the state level marriage records on microfilm. You can visit the Society in person or contact them and for a fee they will research and provide a copy of the marriage. Check the Society website for fees. They also maintain the pre-1907 birth, death and marriage registrations; state and federal population censuses; and genealogical files (98 boxes with card index) compiled at the time of the Wausau Centennial (1972).
The research centery also holds records (1900-1955) of the Wisconsin Cranberry Sales Company, Wisconsin Rapids; papers (1857-1860) of Burton Millard, a Wausau millwright; records (1854-1946) of the East Lemonweir Lutheran Church; and tape-recorded interviews by Malcom Rosholt.
