Last Saturday afternoon Frank J. Wood and his brother, George, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin H. Lynn, motored to New Miner, Juneau County, to view some of the old tavern sites of the old stage days of 1857 to 1872, - first site was that of "Widow Morgan's tavern," in section No. 33, Tp. 22, R. 5, Wood county, the Pinery House, section No. 1, Tp. 20, R. 4, Juneau county, and old Searl's Half-Way House in section No. 33, Tp 20, R. 4, Juneau county. Marvin Lynn and Frank Wood hauled much freight over the old "Lisbon stage rouse." An interesting part of the old Searl's tavern is still standing near New Miner.
