Juneau Co.
Origin of Name: The name was first called Douglas Camp Junction, later
Junction was dropped and the name changed to Camp Douglas.
First Village President: J. O. Frisch in 1899
First School: Founded in 1887
First Marriage: John Singleton and Ann Eliza Douglas in 1866

*The history of the town mentions that Dennis HAYDEN was among the first
8 families. His son Luke was on the first town board. Dennis worked for the
railroad. He got married at St. Bridget's in 1860 while living in Kildare,
moved to New Lisbon, and moved to Camp Douglas as railroad section foreman
in the early 1870s as the village was being developed.
Dennis was my maternal great grandfather.
