I am seeking information on Benjamin BRANHAM married to Sarah (Sally)
STANFORD who resided in Potosi Twp in abt 1855 until they died in abt 1878
for Benjamin and 1877 for Sarah (Sally). I know they are buried close to
Potosi according to Helen Munn. By checking the 1860 and 1870 Grant County
census I know they lived there.
The information I am seeking is the names and ages of their children whom I
believe to be Ann E, Albert G, James H, Elizabeth, Louisa and Benjamin
Franklin. I am sure of all children except for Elizabeth and Louisa.
Any information you have on this family will be appreciated and will be
helpful. If there is any costs for copies, postage, etc. please advise me

Lancaster, Grant County, Wisconsin and descendents. He was married to

was four years old his father died enroute to the US and was buried at

in Wisconsin. Charles had a half brother William who was the father of

from Platteville, Grant, WI. If anyone has information regarding these
two family names, I would greatly appreciate any bits or pieces. I have
a lot of the family information from Charles BAYMAN and his wife Emma

I am researching my great grandmother's family who I have reason to believe
lived in Lancaster, Grant Co., WI. Her name was Clara Elizabeth RHODES.
She had two siblings, Linda RHODES and Howard RHODES. My grandmother
married Frank Warren BUCHNER. I am looking for the dates of birth of the
three RHODES as well as the birthdate of BUCHNER. I am guessing that Clara
RHODES was born in the late 1860's to the early 1870's. I base this on the
fact that my grandmother was born in 1894 in Milwaukee, I have to assume
that Clara and Frank BUCHNER moved there from Lancaster. I have old studio
portraits taken in Lancaster by the W.B. Van De Wall studio, by the Watton
studio and by the Longdon studio. There are no dates on these photos. One
has the name F.W. BUCHNER noted on the back. I also have a photo taken in
Platteville by J.S. Nye with the name Clara RHODES noted on the back. The
photo taken by the Longdon studio is of an older woman, who I am guessing
is either the mother of Frank BUCHNER or Clara RHODES. I am also guessing
that the photos were taken in the 1880's. I believe that both Howard and
Linda RHODES continued to live in Lancaster. I recall going to see Linda
at her deathbed in the late 1940's or early 1950's when I was a young
child. My mother recalls going to see them when she was a young girl in
the 1930's. I would be most grateful if you could provide me with any
information on these families or suggestions as to where to look further. I
currently live in The Bahamas and my mother lives in Hawaii so it has been
rather difficult to dig information up. We are planning to meet in WI in
early October of this year to visit places my ancestors lived. So any
information you might be able to provide would be invaluable. Also, does
Lancaster have any old hotels still open for business? I would be more than
willing to compensate anyone for their time and coping and postal expenses
should the uncover information.
