A friend of mine is seeking info on Henry A. DAVIS, Oct 1,, 1844-Jul 22, 1920 whose wife was Fathonm SARA. They moved from Harrisburg, Penn to Montfort, (Grant CO) Wisc area and had son George Dewey DAVIS, May 25, 1887-Jun 13, 1943. George was married to Alma Elisabeth WINKERS, Dec 15, 1898-Dec 12, 1992 (she was born in Badger Hollow, Iowa Co, WI. I thought I had seen a previous query in this county on this man, but do not see it anymore. I see in the USGenWeb Index that it also has Henry DAVIS as having had a query here. Would like to have this submitted here as a query for Mel DAVIS (my friend) -- his email address is: [email protected] Henry is his grandfather. Looking for Lyman and Lucy KELLOGG. They were living in Boscobel in 1900 with their grand daughter Grace KELLOGG. They are supposed to be the parent of George M. KELLOGG, born in Wis. July, 1856. Grace married I don't know who, had a son and died quite young. George KELLOGG married Ettea GRESS and had eight children, most of whom were born in or near Boscobel between 1882 and 1893.

What I have says that he married a Mrs. Eliza A WALKER of Earlville, Iowa on March 28, 1872 at the brides home in Earlville. I am searching for information on the DEGENHARDT family from Mt. Hope, Grant Co. WI. I have very weak information that Michael Jacob DEGENHARDT had a brother Jacob DEGENHARDT and both came to the US (Not sure through where - possibly Canada) from Prussia Germany in 1851 or 1855. Not sure when he arrived in Mt. Hope but here are dates I do have. born 9-23-1834 in Prussia: married Elizabeth MIKESCH b. 11-4-1842 in Bohemia on 9-16- 1862 at St. Andrews, Tenneyson, Grant. Michael died 2-21-1923 in Mt. Hope, Grant and burried at St. Marys Cemetary, Bloomington, Grant. Elizabeth died 5-14-34 in Waterloo Township and buried 5-17-34 at St. Marys Cemetary, Bloomington. They had 10 children: Catherine DECKER, Henry, Theodore, Mary ERTZ, Anna Elizabeth ZENZ, Regina, Charles, Frank, Adolph J., Louis Jacob. I would really like to know more information about Michael Jacobs brother. Also what possible relation this DEGENHARDT family has with other DEGENHARDTS in Wisconsin. Any and All information for be greatly appreciated!!

Researching HULL in Grant county. Egbert HULL married Eliza WOMACK April 8, 1866 in Smelser. They had a son George HULL about 1867. Looking for information on George's birth date and place. Also, info on any other children. Missing death date and burial location for both Egbert and Eliza. Also, requesting death dates and burial location of Egbert's father William R. HULL and mother Julia Ann MCKAIG. Thanks.

Looking for Grant Co. information re parents of John G. HUDSON, b. Lima, NY 1828; d. Crawford Co, WI July 1896. His parents were from RI; left NY 1835 for WI. Their names are unknown. John was a Methodist minister who traveled Grant Co circuit. Also a school teacher, acc to 1880 Lima, Grant Co census. John was married to Nancy E. MCDANIEL who died in Grant Co, Jan 31, 1881. Her parents were Robert & Lucinda (surname unknown) MCDANIEL, both born KY, but also residents of Grant Co.

I am seeking information on George GOULD, born 16 Aug 1836 and Sarah KRAMER, birthdate unknown. They were listed in Grant Co., WI census records in 1870. Marriage date is unknown but first child, Frances Lillian, was born 01 Jan 1866. Second child was Nellie born 26 Aug 1870, third child was Joseph born 10 Feb 1874. Sarah may have died in late 1870's because it appears George remarried about 1880 and had three more children by Feb 1886. GOULD's mother's name was Anna, last name unknown. Any information on this family will be greatly appreciated.

Researching CARMODY in Grant County, WI. Maurice W. CARMODY was born to Thomas CARMODY in November, 1909 in Lancaster. Other children were also born. Thomas CARMODY's wife's name was Elizabeth LAWLESS. The children grew up on a farm, the land given to Thomas and his brothers by their father who was the first landowner in the family and who came to WI from Ireland. Any leads would be appreciated.

KRAMER/WONN Looking for ancestry of Valentine Kramer, b 8 Dec 1820 in Prussia. Came to America via New Orleans in 1841; spent a winter in the mines at French Village, Ill., and in March 1842 reached Platteville; engaged in mining at Big Patch, Dodge- ville and Beetown; in 1847 he bought 80 acres of his farm; it was timbered openings with only log buildings upon it; he cleared some and added 160 acres. He married Catherine Wonn, of Prussia, in August 1847; they had eight children: Maggie, Mary, Henry, Valentine, Fannie, Minnie, John, and William; all were born in Lima, as was Louisa, who died when 24 years of age. The family belonged to the Lutheran Church. Valentine Kramer died 17 May 1901, buried Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville.

I am searching for my RUPP, MEIER, and WINTER ancestors from Potosi. Valentine MEIER and Elizabeth WINTER were married on 13 June 1847 in Potosi. Valentine died in a mining accident sometime in 1850(?). Elizabeth remaried to John RUPP on 14 Oct 1851. I need death dates, birth places, etc., for these people, if anybody has any leads, I would be grateful. I do have information on the GLASSMAKER family of Cassville to 1739 which I would be happy to share. Thanks!

Looking for info about the family of Franklin E. KELLEY(KELLY) born April 1849 in Montfort, Grant County WI married 1888 in Fennimore WI to Anna Maria ORR born Feb. 1871 in Canada. They had 8 children: Clyde, William H.(My great-grandfather) Clayton, Maree, Dewey S., Emmett W., Russell James and Cora Bell. We have never had any contact with these relatives and want to know any surviving members of this family. My father never knew his father because his Mom divorced him in 1920 and there was never any contact between them. My father is 78 and really would like to know something about his heritage. All of us are extremely curious - there are 5 out of 6 surviving siblings in my immediate family. My father had a brother who was killed in a car/train accident when he was early 20's. Dad was born in Fond du Lac and grew up on his stepfather's farm between Oshkosh & VanDyne, married my Mom from VanDyne. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for information on Michael and Martin Calvert who came to Wisconsin for mining from North Yorkshire England around 1839. Martin married Ann Alderson in either Grant or Jo Daviess County and Michael married Elizabeth Sparks and settled in Grant County. Michael is said to have died in Fairplay, Grant Co. Martin may have died in Fairplay or New Diggings, in Lafayette County, WI. Michael had 10 children and Martin had 5 children.

Looking for information on a John N. CALVERT born about 1816 North Yorshire, England. Came to Wisconsin around 1840's. Had at least 2 children Thomas and Rozella CALVERT. John is said to have died at Portage. Whether the city or county we are not sure. Portage, Columbia County has no death record for him. He had 4 brothers Isaiah, Martin, Michael and Henry that also came to Wisconsin around the same time. They settled in Grant, Lafayette and Iowa Counties.

Looking for information on Charles WEBB and his wife Emma listed with two children, Etta WEBB and Everett WEBB, on Greenfield Ave, Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co, 1900 Census, and their descendants. Charles WEBB born Jan, 1864, Ontario Canada, one of fifteen children of William WEBB and Sarah WISE, emigrated around 1898. Emma (maiden name unknown) WEBB (1867-1911) is buried in Rock Church Cemetery, Grant Co. Would appreciate any information.

My g grandmother Ida PETT(E)Y gave Lafayette Co as birthplace in 1864 or 1869; parents John PETTY and Almira HASTINGS. But John PETTY appears in index of Grant Co (Harrison Twp and Potosi) for 1850,1860,1870 censuses. A Harrison-Petty cemetery exists in Grant Co. I seek information on the PETTY familes of this area to connect with Ida and her brother Albert B PETT(E)Y born in the 1850s. A John PETTY also appears in Shullsburg, Lafayette Co census indices for 1850, 1860, 1870.

Seeking decendants of families of John Miller LOGUE & George Emery LOGUE, who lived in Grant Co, in Muscoda area. John born 3 Apr 1819, in Pa, died 1901 in Muscoda area. George born 14 Sep 1844, in Pa, died 4 Nov 1891. John buried in Old Muscoda cemetery and George buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Muscoda.
