My great grandfather's name was (fnu) MEIER, his wife's maiden name was LAUDERMAN (ph). Meier immigrated to Wisconsin ca 1830, I imagine; from Eiskerchen (ph) Prussia. He married Ms. LAUDERMAN (younger by probably 20 years) around 1870. She was born in Prague and settled in Muscoda with her family probably just before the Civil War.

MEIER owned and operated the local haberdashery in Muscoda for many years and with LAUDERMAN produced 7 children: among them, Ann, Sophia, Theresa, and Fred. Sophia was my grandmother, born ca 1872 in Muscoda and married my grandfather, Joseph ANDREWS, a young lumber man from Ironton, Sauk County near the turn of the century.
