CA - Common Ancestor
child - (son or daughter)
gchild - grandchild
g gchild - great-grandchild
neph - nephew or niece
g nept - great nephew or niece
c - cousin
r - removed

To find the relationship between two people, first determine the one ancestor that the two people have in common. Follow the first person’s lineage from that common ancestor across the top of the chart. Follow the second person’s lineage down the side of the chart. The point where those two lineages intersect in the chart, is the relationship.
