I have found great success with cemetery records! My theory is "if you find one family member, you find several". Prior to 1880's, it's pretty hard to find cemetery records in Northern Wisconsin, but once the records were kept--BINGO! I have several of the local cemeteries listed here and if you know of some others, I'd be thrilled to add them. Besides cemeteries, also remember to check churches for the burial records and local funeral homes. I've had some funeral homes surprise me and send me everything from the original cost, to the pallbearers' names, and even an obituary! (My hint on obituaries is to write to the local library--they usually have the newspaper on microfilm and when you supply a death date, they will look up the obit. The Wisconsin State Genealogical Society has published lists of the following cemeteries in Florence County.  These lists are available at their website for a nominal fee.  The volunteers for this project have done an EXCELLENT job!
