Comments: This is a great site. I found
Nielsen last names listed in Racine County and am hoping that I can connect with
one of my great uncles relatives. I will be in Wisconsin at the end of
June/beginning of July and am hoping to find info on the Nielsen and Levien
families who lived in Milwaukee and Burlington circa 1882-1889. The Levien's are
my great grandparents. I have discovered that when I locate one family I will
find the other also.

Comments: STOER/STOEHR/PAAR I am
seeking knowledge of and information about my GGGrandparents, Christian
Stoehr/Stohr and his wife, Caroline Hauker who arrived in Burlington, Racine
County, WI in about 1861 from Alsace. They had six children, Frederick, Matilda,
Emma (my Great Grandmother - delightful!), August, Andrew and Ida (married
Paar). Both Andrew and Ida remained in Burlington. August (Gus) and Emma went
West. What happened to Frederick and Matilda? And where are the descendents of
Andrew and Ida? They were still in Burlington in 1944 when Gus Stohr died. Any
information greatly appreciated. Nancy Marr-Eckel

Comments: Hoping to find info on the Reuschlein
connections to family that migrated to Plain, Sauk Co, Wis 1850's. Especially
burial site of first husband of Mary Reuschlein Maisch Voelkel - Lorenzo Maisch
who died early 1850's - know that brothers of Heinrich Reuschlein lived in
Burlington. People from Plain attended the funerals according to local
newspapers. Have been wanting to solve this for some time. Great
website!

James & Rosa). James & Rosa MULLENS purchased land in Burlington around

Comments: I am researching the
life of Captain Jacob S. Andrews (Great Lakes) who died of cholera in Racine 7
Sept. 1849. Jacob was the co-builder with his brothers-in-law of the schooner A.
H. Newbold which grounded on Racine Reef in Nov. 1848. I believe he was in
Racine overseeing repairs to the vessel when he died. He left a wife Laura nee
Donihoo of St. Clair County, Michigan. I am interested in knowing if there was a
cholera epidemic at that time; if there is a cholera cemetery, as such, or where
Jacob might be buried. Thank you so much, Suzanne

Comments: I am researching the
names FRERICH (Frerik) and PIEPER (Peeper). John Herman Frerich and A. Maria
Catherina Pieper were married in Burlington, Racine, Wi. on Nov. 3rd or 4th 1851
at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The church record I received gives
their names as Hermann Frorig and A. Catherina Pipper with witnesses as Joann
Brombeck and Henry Pipper. I am most interested in finding out who their parents
were. I hope this will lead me to their siblings as well as information
confirming what part of Prussia they came from about 1846.
