Obituary of Mary C. Eckberg - June 30, 1993

Mary C. Eckberg, 97 formerly of 509 S Irwin Ave., died Tuesday morning, June 29, 1993 in a local nursing home. She was born July 14, 1895 in Kinkora, Ontario, Canada to the lat e James and Catherine(Carroll) Morrison. Mary married Eric Eckberg, Sr. in 1924 at St. Joseph Church, Oconto. He preceded her in death October 6, 1980.

Mary and Eric moved to Green Bay in 1954 where she became a member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish and the Altar Rosary Society. Mary was also a member of the Secular Franciscan Order.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Clarence and Betty Eckberg; Kenneth and Janice Eckberg; all of Green Bay; Eric Eckberg, Jr., Rhinelander; 12 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Anna Augustine and Ellen Hoffman.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 9 p.m.  today and after 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Third Order of St. Francis rosary 7 p.m. today. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. tonight. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Finian Zaucha O.F.M. and Rev. Kenneth Augustine officiating.  Burial in the Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
Mary’s family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Western Village for the all of the care and consideration given to Mary and her family.
