Obituary of Adeline Champeau - February 17, 1890

Green Bay Advocate.

Duck Creek, Feb. 17, 1890

Death has once more visited our community and taken from our midst one of our oldest and most esteemed citizens, Mrs. Adeline Champeau, who departed this life at her home in Duck Creek, on Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, at the age of about 67 years. Her aliment was dropsy, of which disease she had complained for about 3 months, but was seriously ill only for ten days. The funeral took place from the Catholic church, Duck Creek, the funeral cortege being one of the largest ever seen in these parts. Many friends from abroad were present. Mrs. Champeau was born in the city of Ft. Howard, April 30th, 1821, where about 42 years ago she was married to Mr. Emanuel Champeau, who still survives her. They afterward moved to Duck Creek, where they have since resided and where by her kindness and generosity she has endeared herself to all. She leaves a husband and grown up family of eight children to mourn the loss of an exemplary wife and mother. They have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction. __NED
