The Blue Hills Genealogical Society-Barron County, Inc. promotes quality genealogical research by presenting programs about doing genealogy research, family history & local history. Bring a friend and join us.   There are no provisions for children.

Presentation topics are tentative with the exception of  April  Annual Meeting) and November (Annual Award and Appreciation Banquet).  Meeting dates and times are subject to change at any time.

MEETING CANCELLATION POLICY:  All calendar items are subject to cancellation, rescheduling, or changes in subject matter and speaker.  If BHGS must cancel any meeting or event (due to inclement weather or any other causes) announcements will be made on the local Barron County radio stations; WJMC, WAQE, FOX and WATQ/Moose Country.  The notices will be posted on this website, Facebook and the society's mail list (Rooters).  These actions will be taken before 5:00 pm the day of the meeting.  Be sure to check  with any of these sources if you are in question about a possible cancellation.

        1 Year Membership

Our membership year is from April 1 thru March 31. Dues may be paid at the meetings, by mail or PayPal.  Members are accepted year round.
Anytime throughout the year you may become a member in the Blue Hills Genealogical Society by completing a Membership Application and paying either in person at the Resource Center, the Monthly Meetings or by printing out the application online and mail the completed application along with your check to:  Blue Hills Genealogical Society - Barron County, Inc., 410 East LaSalle, Suite C, Barron, WI  54812.
Membership in the Society includes the quarterly society newsletter "The Echoes", unlimited free lookups onsite by you, in the Society surname files, other files and indexes, unlimited free lookups in the Christeson Civil War files and the 1922 Barron County History book.

Pioneer or Century Certificate Program

The society promotes quality genealogical research and will guide persons in conducting their own research of their Barron County roots. The Pioneer Certificate is for anyone with ancestors living in Barron County by 1871.    The Century Certificate is for anyone with ancestors living in Barron county after 1872 or at least 100 years. If you were to apply for the Century Certificate for your ancestor, this year, you would need to have proof of their residency previous to December 31, 1916.  See the Pioneer & Century Certificate Program page for more information contact info@bluehillsgenealogicalsociety.org
 
  The deadline for the 2018 Certificates is October 1, 2018
