Mrs. Elmiina TaBelle, a resident of Oulu for 33 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Norman Lundgren, in Duluth, Christmas Eve. She had been spending the winter there. Born in Finland, June 18, 1878, she came to this country when she was 18-years-old. She lived at Houghton and Hancock, Mich., before moving to Oulu in 1910. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Norman Lundgren, Duluth, Mrs. Sarah Jazwick, Winchester, Ohio; and Miss Eleanor TaBelle, San Pedro, Calif.; three sons, Richard TaBelle, Iron River; George TaBelle and S. Sgt. Joseph TaBelle, Grand Island, Neb. There are 16 granchildren. Funeral services were held yesterday at the Lenroot Funeral Home in this city, the Rev. C. Aherns officiating. Burial was in the Iron River Cemetery.

OBITUARY - HELGA TAPIO
Mrs. Helga Tapio, 89, 514 15th Ave. W., Ashland, WI., died Sept. 15th [1985] at an Ashland Nursing home. She was born Feb. 5, 1896 in Finland and lived most of her life in the Ashland-Highbridge area. She was a member of the Finnish Apostolic Church, Marengo, and had been a member of the Ashland Senior Center.
She is survived by one daughter Mrs.Helvi Lusikka, Ashland; 5 grandchildren; 12 great -grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilho Koivisto and her second husband, John Tapio; a son, Oliver Koivisto and one grandson.
Services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland with Pastor William Juoppi officiating. Burial will be at the Highbridge Cemetery.

OBITUARY
Virginia Tarter, 95, of P.O. Box 92, Iron River, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1995, at Court Manor Health and Rehabilitation Services, Ashland.
She was born June 11, 1900, in Iron River, the daughter of Dr. Joseph and Ivis (Peterson) Tarter.
She attended and graduated from Superior Normal and majored in history. She taught at Superior Normal for one year; Iron River High School and Elementary School, Northwestern High School; and other various schools for 51 years, before retiring in 1971. She was a charter member of Our Savior's Luthern Church, Iron River, the Garden Club, Western Bayfield [County] Historical Society, Iron River Area Foundation, the Ladies Aid and Chequamegon Retired Teachers.
She is survived by nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George.
Funeral services were held Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Iron River, with the Rev. Gregory Friedrich officiating. Burial took place in the Iron River Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Frost Home for Funerals, Ashland.

Mrs. Mary F. Taylor Passed Away
in Her 87th Year of Life
Mrs. Mary F. Taylor, widow of the late Peter Taylor, aged 86 years, two months, and 28 days, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ashland Tuesday morning [Feb. 6, 1940] at 10 o'clock, where she was taken a few days previous to her death when suddenly becoming ill.
The deceased was born in New Brunswick, Canada, on Nov. 8th, 1853, and came to the United States when young. The Taylors have made Iron River their home for nearly forty years, and the children gew to manhood and womanhood here.
The deceased is survived by two sons, Emmett, of Duluth, who travels for a driller's supply house, and Captain J. C. Taylor, who makes his home here but who sails the Great Lakes in the summer seasons; two daughters, Mrs. Josie King, of L'Anse Mich., and Miss Cele, of this city; one sister, Mrs. Annie McLaughlin, Hartford, Conn.; four grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild.
Funeral services were held at St. Michael's Catholic church in this city this morning at 10 o'clock and interment was at the Catholic cemetery, with the pastor of the church, Rev. John Dzurko, officiating.
All of the immediate relatives were present, including those named above, and also including the deceased's granddaughters, Mrs. Jean Gilbert, of Sault St. Marie, and Mrs. Clayton Groleau, of Escanaba, Mich. Among the friends from out of town who attended the funeral were; Mrs. Al. Langiois and Mr. R. Wiseman, of Marquette, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. E. Girard, Mrs. William Pynn, and Michael Morris, of Drummond; Mr. and Mrs. John Coffey, son Tom and daughter Alice, of Park Falls; Mrs. Myrtle Montgomery and Mrs. M. C. Helmer, of Washburn, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bouchard, of Blueberry.
The deceased, although reaching the age where her passing need cause no surpise, will nevertheless be greatly missed by many friends, and her devoted family.
THE IRON RIVER PIONEER, BAYFIELD COUNTY, WISCONSIN Thursday, February 8, 1940
Arthur Teschner, 77, formerly of Rt. 1, Washburn, died Sunday at the Northern Lights Manor Nursing Home, Washburn. He was born Feb 2, 1908 at Butternut. Mr. Teschner was a dairy farmer in rural Washburn for many years.
Surviving are two sisters; Mrs. Emilia Hyke, Ashland; and Mrs. Etta Fleischfresser, Butternut; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and William and a sister, Martha.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bratley Funeral Home, Washburn. Burial will be in the Herbster Cemetery. Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bruta Tolonen, a resident of Oulu for 52 years, passed away at ther home after a week's illness with the flu and pneumonia. She was born in Finland, July 9, 1860. She is survived by her husband, Nathan Tolonen, three sons, Ernest,Edward and William, all of Oulu; three daughters, Ida Maki of Bay City, Mich.; and Lydia and Hilda of Oulu; four grandchildren; and one brother who resides in Finland.

Racine
Vesta Margaret passed away Monday afternon, November 14, 1994, at the age of 89 years. She was born in Iron River, Wis. on July 4, 1905, the daughter of the late James Hamilton Tomlinson and Amanda Jane (nee: Stoddar) Tomlinson. Vesta came to live in Racine in 1930. She attended and graduated from the Iron River High School and attended and graduated with a B.S. Degree from the Superior Normal School in 1948. Vesta was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Racine. She was President of the Retired Teachers Association, was Secretary of the Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, and was a member of the Racine and Wisconsin Teachers Association. Vesta was a First Grade Teacher at the N.D. Fratt School in Racine, retiring in 1968. She also taught school in Grand Blanc, Mich. and Ironwood Mich. Surviving her are a nephew, Peter Tomlinson and his wife, Irene living in Sterling, Mich. Also surviving are a grandniece, Kathy Bill of Milwaukee, Wis.; her dearest friend, Jean Rothlisberger of Racine; and a special friend, Mary Tharinger of Racine. Also survived by many dear friends and former students. She was preceded in death by a sister, Merna A. Perry in 1949; a brother, James S. Tomlinson in 1947; and by a nephew, James Tomlinson. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held in the First Presbyterian Chapel on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3, 1994, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Randall K. Bush officiating. Inurnment* will be in the Iron River City Cemetery, Iron River, Wis. MEMORIALS in memory of Vesta Tomlinson to the First Presbyterian Church or the Hospice Alliance have been suggested.

Mrs. Augusta Traxel, aged 81 years, passed away quite suddenly with an attack of heart trouble at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. X. Rocheleau, last Friday afternoon, Sept. 27th [1940]. Mrs. Traxel was seized with an attack of heart trouble several months ago while visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Ida Mosher, at Chisholm, Minn., and was seriously ill for several weeks. She got better by degrees, however, and was able to get around once more, but not as she did before that sickness. Last week she went over to Ashland to spend a few days with her son, Albert, but she complained on Friday morning of not feeling so well and Albert brought her over to Iron River. She was here but a brief time when she was seized with the attack that resulted in her quite sudden death.
Mrs. Traxel was Augusta Haasch before her marriage, and she was born in Wausau, Wisconsin. For more than forty years she has made her home in Iron River, but of late years did spend a part of the time with her daughter in Chisholm.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dora Rocheleau, of Iron River; Mrs. Ida Mosher, of Chisholm, Minn., one son, Albert, of Ashland, Wis; one sister, Mrs. John Staege, and one brother, Fred Haasch, both of Wausau, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services occurred on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Lenroot Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. D. W. Phillips, and interment was in the family lot in the City cemetery. Rev. Phillips substituted for Rev. Black, of the Congregational church, who was out of town and did not expect to be back in time for the funeral.
Among the relatives and friends from out of town who came here upon receiving news of the death of Mrs. Traxel, and most of whom remained for the funeral, included Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mosher, Mrs. Peter Aronson and Winifred Prusak of Chisholm, Minn.,: Mr. Fred A. Haasch, a brother, Mrs. Minnie Staege, a sister, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Genrich, all of Wausau, Wis.; Mrs. Cash Talarak, of Antigo, Wis.; Al Traxel, son, of Ashland, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Rocheleau, of Wisconsin Rapids, and Al Rocheleau, of Herbster.

John Horatio Trudeau, 16, died July 27 of inoperable brain cancer at Whichita, Kan. He was a former resident of Washburn and frequent visitor to the Namakagon area, and had resided at Derby, Kan., since his family moved there in 1978. He was born April 19, 1969 in Austin, Minn., the son of Dr. David and Karen Trudeau, and maternal grandson of Connie Trudeau, formerly of Lake Namakagon, and the late Larry Trudeau.
Surviving besides his parents are a sister, Renee; and two brothers, George and Benjamin, Derby, Kan. Also surviving are numerous cousins, uncles and aunts, including Mimi Trudeau of Namakagon.
A memorial service was held at Smith Funeral Chapel, Wichita, July 29; and a funeral mass was held at St. Anne's Catholic Church,Wichita, Tuesday, July 30. A memorial fund has been established by the family which resides at 1335 Dry Creek, Derby, Kan., 67037. Dr. Trudeau was on the staff at the Bayfield County Memorial Hospital, and for a time, directed the Memorial Medical Treatment Center in Ashland. The family was active in the Chequamegon Theatre Association.

OBITUARY FRANK T. TUCKER
FRANT T. TUCKER DROWNS
OSHKOSH, Sept. 1 -- The corpse of Frank T. Tucker, assistant attorney general of the state of Wisconsin and candidate for the republican nomination for attorney general at the primary election to be held Tuesday next, was fished from the Fox River here this morning. It is believed that he fell into the river during the night while making his way to a train.
Mr. Tucker was running as a progressive republican and LaFollette supporter.

Mrs. Leonard (Linda) Tuura, 85, died Wednesday, May 8th [1985] at the Middle River Health Care Facility, Hawthorne, WI. Mrs. Tuura was born in Brule, November 19, 1899 and had lived in the Brule area most of her life.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Eleanore Maki, who passed away March 1983. She is survived by her husband, Leonard; one son, Bernard, Babbitt MN.; one sister, Fannie Jarvi, Milwaukee, WI.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 11th at the Waino Pioneer Chapel with the Rev. A.B. Anderson, Duluth, MN., officiating. Interment was in the Everrest Cemetery, Waino. Pallbearers were Williard and Richard Tuura, John Karna, Arnold Wentela, Walter Johnson and Jack Gronquist.
