The welcome sign is off of Wisconsin's 125 forest towers for the
duration of the war. People have always been allowed to climb towers
freely, but will not be permitted to do so the coming summer.
The
towers are expected to be an important part of the defense program
being set up. Maps that have been distributed freely in the past will not be
available this year.
L.A. Mineau, chairman of the American Red Cross War Fund
Drive, reports that the Town of Tripp is the first town to report that their

over the town quota. Congratulations, Town of Tripp.
John Shykes of the Town of Tripp, a member of the Bayfield
County Fair Committee, was commissioned to engage the entertainment
for the County Fair. The Badger Entertainment Company will bring
their carnival with several free acts. Since County Agent Roy Holvenstot was
otherwise engaged, the matter of the bookings was left to Mr. Shykes'
judgment.
