Did you have ancestors in Kansas in 1918?

In January 1918 through June 1918, all unnaturalized males and females (fourteen years and upward) who were subjects of the German Empire or from Alsace-Lorraine in France and Schleswig-Holstein in Denmark were required to register with the Department of Justice. All states were required to do this but the records were later destroyed. Kansas has the only known existing files of these registrations, but they list only those people IN KANSAS during that time period.

If you have an ancestor who you think might have been in Kansas during January through June of 1918, I would be happy to look for their names in my "REGISTRATION OF AXIS ALIENS IN KANSAS" index.

If they are there, I will tell you how to get a copy of their actual registration form. The form gives their names, spouses, children, parents, places of birth, when arrived in US, siblings, occupation, fingerprints, signature and even a photo. It's really wonderful!
