Norman Bidwell Kurth, 75, Friendship, an Adams County supervisor, died Saturday evening about 9:43 pm at the VFW Club house following an apparent heart attack.
Services were at 2 pm, Tuesday, Oct 5, at Roseberrys' Funeral Home, Friendship, the Rev Glenn Dunn officiating, with burial in Easton Cemetery, Easton. Family members served as pallbearers.
Mr Kurth was born Sept 19, 1901 at Easton, the son of Herman and Lenona Kurth, and married Mary M Bacon Oct 24, 1924 at Adams. She died in 1973. Mr Kurth was retired owner-operator of Grand Marsh Mercantile Store. He was currently a member of the Adams County Board; chairman of the Town of Preston; and a member of Grand Marsh Congregational Church and Adams County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son, David, Odenton, Md; a daughter, Mrs Ted (Judy) Rigas, Chicago; two brothers, Clarence, Easton; and Harry, Minn; a sister, Mrs Wilma Billings, Friendship.
