MOrris Picus, died Monday, Oct 12, 1987, in the Rockford Memorial Hospital emergency room, Rockford, Ill, after a long illness.
He was born Oct 12, 1893, in Russia, a son of Louis and Fannie Picus. He lived three years in Rockford, coming from California where he had retired after living most of his life in Friendship, Wis. He married Mary Muss in Chicago, Ill, on Oct 13, 1921. She died in 1969.
Picus owned and operated L Picus & Sons, Friendship, for almost 50 years, first with his brother, Roy Picus and later with his son, Leonard.
He was a member of Friendship Masonic Lodge and B'nai Brith.
Survivors include: two sons, Leonard, Mequon, Wis, and Dr Charles, Rockford, Ill; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Ann Silverman, Los Angeles, Cal. He was predeceased by two brothers, Roy and Nye, and one sister, Lillian Wexler.
Services were held on Wednesday, Oct 14, at Sundberg Funeral Home in Rockford, with Rabbi Jeffrey Kahn officiating. Burial was in Hebrew Cemetery, Rockford.
