Funeral services for Marian Irene Pease, 83, were held at 6pm Wednesday, Feb 17, at teh Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home at Fairbanks, Alaska. The Rev Phillip Gilbert officiated.
Ms Pease died Sunday, Feb 14, 1988 at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, following several years of ill health.
Ms Pease was born Oct 27, 1904, to Thomas Timothy and Edna (Fuller) Wickersham in Easton Township, Adams County, Wis. In 1922, she married David D Pease.
They farmed all their lives in Adams County. Ms Pease spent some years as a resort cook as well as cooking in sorority houses at the University of Wisconsin.
Following the death of her husband in 1983, and due to failing health, Ms Pease moved to Fairbanks in 1984 to live with her daughter and to be near other relatives.
Ms Pease is survived by: two daughters Donna Krier and Ellen Nelson, both of Fairbanks; a sister, helen Becker of rural Wisconsin Dells; a brother Dale Pease, of Sparta, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Greg, Debra, and Todd Krier, Paticia Aragan, and Jeff Nelson, all of Fairbanks, Larry Nelson of Livengood, Alaska, Rebecca Smith of Missouri, D'Anna Krueger of Pennsylvania, and David Pease of Delevan, Wis; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, two sons, and a daughter.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to a local charity.
Burial took place in Mt Repose Cemetery in Friendship. Memorial services were held at that time.
