Lyle Oakes, 82, R 2, Wisconsin Dells, died Thursday, Feb 12, 1981 at University Hospital, Madison.

Funeral services were Sunday Feb 15 at Roseberry Funeral Home, Rev Larry Hauser officiated.

Mr Oakes was born August 19, 1898 in Springville, the son of George and Nettie Oakes.

On November 17, 1920 he married Irene Florence Colby at Portage.

He was a farmer

Survivors include his wife Irene; children, James, Beloit; Edward, Friendship; Sidney, Montello; sister Elva Sears, Brainerd, Mn; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

One son Edwin died in infancy.

Mr Oakes was cremated.
