Mrs George Colby, 68, Grand Marsh, died Thursday afternoon, Oct 23, at the Adams County Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm Sunday, Oct 27, at the Roseberry Funeral Home, the Rev Duane Longfellow of the 7th Day Adventist Church, Baraboo, officiating. Burial was made in the Easton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were the grandsons: Billy McChesney, Gary Robinson, Bob Williams, Douglas Colby, Francis Churchill and Jerry Churchill.
Mrs Colby, the former Louise Emma Engnath, was born in Wisconsin, Oct 10, 1895 the daughter of Rudolph Engnath, and was married to George Colby Sept 13, 1916, in Adams township. Her husband preceded her in death on Mon, Aug 28, just two months ago.
Surviving are eight sons, John, Hales Corners; Kenneth and George, Rio; Alfred, Milwaukee; Arnold, Antioch, Ill; Ronald, Genessee Depot; Edwin, Nekoosa; and Robert, Phoenix, Ariz.; four daughters Mrs Eva McChesney, Grand Marsh; Mrs Almira Williams, Waukesha; Mrs LouAnn Schaetzka, Oxford; Mrs mildred Robinson, Milwaukee; 36 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was further survived by two sisters, Mrs Hattie Pheiffer, Portage, (who passed away Sat, Oct 26) and Mrs Alma Grabarski, Easton, and three brothers, Frank Engnath, Wisconsin Dells; William Engnath, Milwaukee; and Ernest Engnath, Madison.
