Charles Ebin Gibbens, 85, of County Highway A, Town of Easton, Adams County, Wis, died Sunday, June 19, 1988, at Adams County Memorial Hospital following a long illness with cancer.
He was born June 25, 1902, in Easton Township, a son of William Ebin and Dorothy Mae Gibbens. He married Marion Marguerite Lawton, a school teacher, on May 31, 1928, in Tomah, Wis.
As a young man, Gibbens sold automobiles for the Ford garage in Adams. He worked as a laborer for various lumbermen, tried farming for 20 years, and in later life he assisted his wife in her real estate business.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Lyle Gibbens, Easton; a brother, Gilbert Gibbens, Charkston, Wash; a sister, Agnes Zielenski, Westfield, Wis; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, Wis, Wednesday, June 22, at 2pm with the Rev Glenn A Dunn officiating. Burial was in the Easton cemetery.
