Avery Cecil Elliott, 82, of Edgerton, Wis, formerly of the town of Easton, Adams County, Wis, died Thursday, Dec 31, 1987, at Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville, Wis, following a long illness.
Services were at 2pm Monday, Jan 4, at Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, Wis. The Rev Glenn A Dunn officiated. Burial was in the Easton Cemetery.
Elliott was born March 31, 1905, in the town of New Chester, Adams County, the son of Lewis E and Mable I Elliott. He married Viola Mae Day on Nov 3, 1926, in Friendship. She died May 21, 1980.
Elliott and his wife lived and farmed in Adams County until 1951, at which time they moved to Edgerton. He worked on a dairy farm in the Edgerton area for a short time and then did factory work until his retirement in 1976.
He is survived by: three sons, Robert of Edgerton, Alfred of Merrill, and Lewis of Kenosha; one brother, Harry of Arkdale, Wis; three sisters, Sylvia Schoff of Adams, Harriet Schoff of Janesville, Wis, and Lois Beckett of Madison, Wis; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Elliott was predeceased by his wife and a son, Donald, in 1958.
