Adams County, Wisconsin |
Welcome to Adams County, Wisconsin's Trails to the Past! My name is Jeanne and I am your host to this site. If you find any broken links, please let me know.
Adams County was formed in 1848 from Portage County. It was enlarged in 1849 and in 1853. In 1855, voters chose to divide the county geographically due to the separation created by the Wisconsin River, thus Juneau County was born. It is surrounded by Wood County, Portage County, Waushara County, Marquette County, Columbia County, Sauk County and Juneau County. The county is named for John Quincy Adams. The county seat is Friendship.
