Gospel Herald - Volume LVI, Number 36 - September 10, 1963 - pages 813, 814. Short - Andrew, son of Christian C. and Magdalena (Lantz) Short, was born near Archbold, Ohio, March 21, 1884; died at his home, Pettisville, Ohio, Aug. 18, 1963; aged 79 y. 4 m. 28 d. On Feb. 15, 1906, he was married to Mary L. Miller, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons and 6 daughters (Luella-Mrs. Melvin Yoder, Viola-Mrs. Olen Rufenacht, Lillie, Harold, Elden, Beulah-Mrs. Levi Troyer, Florence-Mrs. Elton Aeschliman, Lawrence, and Martha-Mrs. David Miller), 46 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and one sister (Arvilla). One son, one daughter, and one grandchild preceded him in death. He was a member of the West Clinton Church, where funeral services were held Aug. 21, in charge of E. B. Frey and Carl Smeltzer; interment in Pettisville Cemetery. |

Gospel Herald - Volume 67, Number 16 - April 16, 1974, p. 334 Short - Mary, daughter of John H. and Leah (Short) Miller, was born at Wauseon, Ohio, June 13, 1885; died at Defiance, Ohio, Nov. 4, 1973; aged 88 y. 4 m. 22 d. On Feb. 15, 1906, she was married to Andrew Short, who survives. Also surviving are 6 daughters (Luella-Mrs. Melvin Yoder, Viola-Mrs. Olen Rufenacht, Lillie, Beulah-Mrs. Levi Troyer, Florence-Mrs. Elton Aeschliman, and Martha-Mrs. David Miller) and 3 sons (Harold, Elden, and Lawrence). She was preceded in death by a son (Verden), a daughter (Mary Jane-Mrs. Paul Holsopple), and 2 brothers (Uriah and Henry). She was a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Nov. 6, in charge of E. B. Frey and Edward Diener; interment in the Pettisville Cemetery.16 |
