Anna Hammer was born in Throndhjem, Norway July 17, 1855.

At the age of nineteen she married John Stubban. Two daughters were born to this union. One died in infancy, the other, Mrs. Ole (Inga) Hawkinson survives.  Sixty years ago the first of July she came to America coming directly to Menomonie where they lived for one year. They moved to a farm where they lived for twenty years. They sold the farm and moved back to Menomonie.

Mr. John Stubban died ten years ago.

Mrs. Stubban lived alone until two years ago the first of Oct when she came to live with her daughter Mrs. Ole Hawkinson, at whose home she passed away at 9:15 Tuesday morning Sept.  4th, 1945 at the age of 90 years 1 momth and 17 days.

We wish  to thank all our Friends and Neighbors of all the love and kindness shown us during this time of sorrow.

NOTE:  According to the Digitalarkivet, Anna Stubban, age 21 emigrated from Trondheim on June 10, 1885 with daughter Inga, age 2. Destination: Menomonie, Wis.  Later, her husband, Johan Stubban, b. 1853, apparently visited Norway and returned from that trip on June 18, 1908
