Mrs. Rolf Fjerum passed away peacefully on Sunday morning Oct. 23, 1943 at her home in the town of Sherman after a lingering illness of nearly 2 months. Olava Eli was born in Norway near Trondheim on April 2, 1850 and reached  the age of 93 years 6 months and 22 days.  She came to America coming directly to Menomonie in May 1884. On March 19, 1887 she was united in marriage to Rolf Fjerum. They made their home in North Menomonie one year, then moved to a farm in the Town of Menomonie near Teegarden where they lived 2 years.  In the spring of 1890 they moved to t heir home in the Town of Sherman where they have lived 53 years.  In 1937 Mr. and Mrs. Fjerum celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Fjerum was a good Christian and a faithful member of the Christ Lutheran Church until in her declining years.  Mrs. Fjerum is survived by her husband Rolf Fjerum and one son, Ingvald Fjerum. One daughter Clara Christine died in 1899.

Mrs. Fjerum will be greatly missed by her family and relatives and friends.


NOTE: According to Digitalarkivet, Olava Eli emigrated on April 22, 1885 (not 1884) from Børsen to Menomonie, Wis.
