Hans Bueng was born at Trondhjem, Norway, in 1872. He came alone to the United States to Clay County, Minnesota, when he was twenty-one years old. One of his sisters, Chritiana Bueng, came later. She married Ole

Braseth of Cormorant.

Hans married Thea Haug, who came to America when she was 5 years old with her mother, two brothers, and a sister. Her mother was Gunhild Haug, and her brothers Elling and Erick. Her sister was Lisa Haug. They married in 1894.
