At Fowey, on the 12th instant, in the 63rd year of his age, James Henry MEREDITH, Esq., son of the late General MEREDITH, of the Plymouth Division of Royal Marines. For many years, Mr. MEREDITH was an intimate friend of the late Joseph Thomas TREFFRY, Esq., of Place, whose opinion of Mr. MEREDITH's ability and integrity was clearly proved by the fact that Mr. TREFFRY appointed him executor and trustee for the purpose of carrying out and completing his various and extensive designs and undertakings, the magnitude of which may be imagined, when it is known that many thousands of individuals depended on the operations under the superintendence and management of Mr. MEREDITH, for their daily bread.

****The West Briton (Friday, 27 Mar 1857) reported the following marriage at 
Ludgvan:

>>> At Ludgvan ... and Mr. John RAPSON to Miss Ursula THOMAS.

The bride was actually Priscilla THOMAS, daughter of John THOMAS and his 
wife Nanny PENHALE. The event took place at the Ludgvan Parish Church on 21 
Mar 1857. The groom, John RAPSON, was a miner and the son of John RAPSON 
and Mary TREMBATH. John & Priscilla may have left Ludgvan following their 
marriage, since no further evidence of their presence in the parish has been 
found.
