Work Party Weekend May 20 - 22, 2011

On Friday we started with Glenn and Dick running their weed whackers and Bruce and Jake running two rented brush hogs. The grass was waist high and lawn mowers, at this point, were of no use. The rest of us pulled weeds and did A LOT of raking and hauling all the debris to the outside of the cemetery fence into a compost pile that has ended up being nearly five feet high, 10 feet across and 20 feet wide; that is a lot of grass!

Saturday was more raking, pulling weeds, and now the lawn mowers could do their job of getting the grass cut lower. And more raking……

Sunday was the same activity but with only five volunteers showing up. All the volunteers did a great job all weekend and their help is greatly appreciated. And just one week later, the Muckleshoot Indian Charity Fund sent a $5,000.00 grant to help with the landscaping. Now we can hire the professionals to take care of the cemetery!
