ABOUT SIGS

The Sno-Isle Genealogical Society is a not-for-profit organization devoted to furthering genealogical research and education, housing genealogical materials and promoting interest in Family History. The Society is committed to recording and publishing genealogical data concerning Snohomish and Island Counties, in the State of Washington.

SIGS MEETINGS, FOCUS GROUPS, CLASSES, EVENTS

The Society's General Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month, September through June (no meetings in July or August), followed by a program or presentation.   Visit the BEACON PORTAL page for a link to the current issue of The Beacon, for information about meeting location, time and program topic. 

The SIGS Board meets on the 3rd Monday of the month (except in June and July) at 10 a.m.  All members are invited to attend.

Focus Groups currently include German Group - meets 3rd Tuesday of each month from 1 pm to 2 pm;  Scandinavian  Group - meets 3rd Tuesday of each month from 11  pm to 12 noon,  Family Tree Maker Group - meets 2nd Saturday of each month from 1 pm to 2 pm and the Write Your Story Workshop, meets 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 10 am to 11 am. 

SIGS also offers a once-a-month, Basic Beginner Class ("Get your feet wet without getting in over your head") from 10 to 11 on the 1st Saturday of each month. 

Focus Group meetings, the Write Your Story Workshop and the Beginner Class are open to all;  no fee or registration required.

Focus Groups and the Basic Beginner Genealogy class meet at the SIGS Research Center in Humble House (no charge).  General Membership Meetings are held at Heritage Cottage (next door to the Research Center).

For more information about the meetings (speaker, topic, date, time, etc.) and focus groups as well as genealogy classes and other happenings, read the Upcoming Events Schedule in the  LATEST ISSUE of The Beacon, OR telephone the SIGS Library at  425-775-6267 during open hours (Tue 11-3, Thu 11-3 and Sat 11-3).

To get a nifty map of the area, jot down the address of Heritage Park (19827 Poplar Way, Lynnwood) and use MapQuest.

SIGS MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society is $25.00 a year, payable each September.  Members receive an email notification that  The Sounder, SIGS quarterly publication and The Beacon, SIGS monthly newsletter have been uploaded to the Society's website.  In addition, members are entitled to discounts on all purchases at the SIGS Bargain Bookstore.   Correspondence should be addressed to:
