Kittitas County Genealogical Society

While we specialize in Kittitas County resources, our collection also has many resources for other areas, states, and countries!

Kittitas County (created November 24, 1883 from Yakima County) is located in the center of Washington State on the east side of the Cascade Mountain Range.
Ellensburg is the county seat and largest populated center in the county. It is also the home of Central Washington University.
Other populated centers in Kititas County include Cle Elum, Roslyn, Ronald, Thorp, Kittitas and Vantage.

       Computers with Internet access and online subscriptions to Ancestry and other genealogy sources are available to library users.
       In addition to online access to information, the society Library has extensive card files of Kittitas County obituaries, marriages, and other items.

    The Ellensburg High Valley Cemetery graves are NOW ON Find A Grave.  Nearly EVERY one of the 1100 graves include photos of the headstones along with other information about the deceased person.
