The Eastside Genealogical Society's collection of books and other materials is housed in the Bellevue Regional Library. The King County Library System has cataloged the collection by the Dewey Decimal System (by subject matter such as genealogy, history, maps, etc.). The collection is not in a separate section but are in the R929 (genealogy) section or in the R940s and R970s sections. You can access all the genealogy materials by using the library catalog at
http://www.kcls.org
Issues of Genealogical Helper, Heritage Quest, National Genealogical Society Quarterly and Ancestry are available on the magazine shelves or at the magazine counter. The EGS has also established and maintains a vertical file labeled "Genealogy" that contains articles pertaining to genealogy. These articles can be photocopied.
A volunteer member of the Society is available for assistance to anyone at the library. Volunteers are in Room 6 on the second floor and are available every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and every Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. They answer questions and give advice about using the Bellevue Regional Library and about other resources in the library but do not conduct any research.
