GENTIS, SKEEN posted by Sharon Cheney on Tuesday, December 27, 2005
Looking for information on Martha Skeen who married Levi Gentis. Levi and Martha had 2 children Roy and Lee. I think that she is the sister to Thomas and Elisha who were found in the 1880 census. Martha is buried in Kelso, she died 14 FEb 1917. Martha may of had connections with family in Yreka California. I think that the family may of come from Madison county Arkansas.

WARD posted by Irene Wright on Wednesday, August 23, 2006
I am wondering if any one can give me an information on a William Harrison Ward. He was born in Gibson County, Indiana in Dec. 1842. The family moved to Linn County, Ks and he lived there a long time and later moved to Amboy, Washington where I assumed he died. I don't think he was married when he moved to Washington but could be wrong. He had a sister, Elizabeth Jane Ward who married Samuel Sibbett. He also had step brother's and sister's. Their mother, Martha Crowder died when they were young and the father moved to Linn County, Ks where he re-married.

ANDERSON, STURGESS posted by Suze E Hammond on Saturday, August 26, 2006
I am looking for any descendants of the William R. Anderson and Sarah Jane [Sturgess] Anderson family of Hazel Dell, WA. The couple had 14 children, 13 of whom lived to adulthood, including my g-grandmother Marilla Eudora Anderson [later Gardner]. Anderson children, in order; Franklin [died in infancy], Charles Hampton, William Reese Jr., Marilla Eudora [originally Eudora Marilla], Edward Buel, Estelle Flutena ["Tiena"], Lucretia Virginia ["Jenny"], George William Stonewall Jackson [aka "Jack"], Frances Estelle ["Fanny"], Asa Alexander ["Ace"], Minnie Jane, Rosie Nina [aka "Audrey"], Katharine Annis ["Kate"] Robert E. Lee. The Andersons ran the "Totem Pole" as an inn for many years. [No known relation to current Totem Pole Tavern ownership on nearby site]. They were featured in a newspaper article in 1885 that has appeared in several local histories. [I have an original copy of that photo if anyone is interested. Much clearer than the printed news-photo version You can see faces clearly.] The Andersons endowed Sarah Jane Anderson Elementary, Hazel Dell Elementary, at least part of the Clark Co. Poor Farm, and had a Donation Land Claim on what became Hazeldell Avenue, where I grew up. I am in contact with one branch of the family, but I know there are several others out there. Interested in the family history. Have traced possible siblings of Reese to Virginia. Have huge trove of old family photos to share. Suze [Gardner] Hammond
