Lewisville Cemetery

From the History of Battle Ground:
Mr. Rowland deeded two acres for a cemetery in 1892, and the Lewisville Cemetery
Association was subsequently formed in 1897. Mr. W.T. Hammond presided with other
officers being I.W. Rowland, S.a. Hammond, Charles Jenkins, W.F. Potter and W.T. Miller.
The cemetery is located at the southwest corner of Charles Johnson Road and 503.

Mr. Rowland operated his store until his death in 1907 after which his sons, Edgar
 and Harry, owned it. Ownership passed from the Rowland family to Paul Blair in 1916.
Other owners were Mr. and Mrs. Morrison, Earl McCall, Walter Case and
Al Johnson. In 1937, the building was destroyed by fire.

Lewisville had a second store, built in 1887, on the west side of 503, north of the river.
It was built by Dr. James Burt and operated by the doctor and his son for three years.
