Villages and hamlets in Danville:

Danville (also known as Danville Green)
The name Danville was suggested by a friend of Ethan Allen. When Caledonia County was established, Danville was named shire town. Later as
St.Johnsbury developed businesses and the railroad was built along the Passumpsic river, the shire town was moved to St. Johnsbury. The St Johnsbury and
Lamoille County Railroad was constructed during the 1870s and had a station just south of the Danville Green.

   Deweysburgh
        See Deweysburg Gore above.

Greenbank Hollow (also known as South Danville and Harvey's Hollow)
About 1850, Benjamin Greenbank bought the woolen mill in this hamlet. Just before Christmas of 1885, the mill burned and was never replaced.

North Danville (also known locally as Tampico)
The second post office in Danville was established in 1834 and closed in 1906.

  West Danville
Yet another post office was established in 1853 and is still in operation. An annual lottery called the Joe's Pond Ice Out is held every spring here.

Census reporting ends with the 1820 census. There were over 50 separate items of data gathered in the 1830 census. That fact and that names are not in alphabetical order make it impractical to report later years.
