The Red Hill Methodist Church was prettily decorated by friends of the bride with pink and white flowers and ferns to form a horseshoe above the bride, on March 8 for the wedding of William Charles, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Haller, of Alice Vale Farm, Home Hill, and Doris Ellen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Shepherd, Dara, Mt. Morgan. The Rev. R. H. Lewis officiated.

The bride entered the church with her father to the strains of the Wedding March played by Miss Owen. She looked charming in a gown of heavy white crepe de Chine. The bodice was trimmed with pintucks and guipure lace and satin buttons, and the skirt fell to a flare at her ankles. Her embroidered tulle veil, lent by Mrs. Reynolds, was arranged in the cap effect with ribbon and a coronet of orange blossoms. White silk gloves and white shoes were also worn. The bride carried a bouquet of white asters, carnations, and roses arranged with satin ribbons.

Miss Lily Shepherd attended her sister as bridesmaid. She was frocked in shell pink crepe de Chine, ankle length, and falling to a flare. The frock was finely pintucked and hemstitched. A pink crinoline straw hat trimmed with pink and blue flowers and silk gloves and white shoes completed her costume. She carried a bouquet of shaded pink asters and carnations tied with satin streamers.

Mr. F. Haller, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.

After the ceremony a dainty wedding breakfast was served in the dining room at the bride's parents home, which was prettily decorated with pink and white flowers and streamers and ivy trails. The table decorations were also in pink and white tonings. The wedding cake was made by Mr. Baker.

The bride and bridegroom received many telegrams of congratulation and costly presents, including cheques.

The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome crystal clock and to the bridesmaid a string of rock crystals.

The honeymoon is being spent in Townsville. The bride's travelling frock was of bottle-green silk marocain trimmed with mastic and she added a swagger coat of mastic crinkle crepe with green trimmings and a hat to tone.

The future home of the bride and bridegroom will be in Osborne, Home Hill.

OTHER: source - Doris HALLER "Bill worked the farm and lived with his parents at the original farm. He used to drive past the school and one day visited and asked if he could take Doris out sometime before Christmas 1931. They became engaged just after Doris' 21st birthday (17 Feb 1933).

The house on the farm was built just before their wedding. Bill's parents & brother Fred were his only family members to attend the wedding. Doris had attended Sunday School at the Red Hill Methodist Church and also taught Sunday School.

In 1970 moved into town at 63 Thirteenth Avenue, Home Hill which they had owned for several years."
