Vonore Yesterday and Today Families A-Mc
Vonore Families: Yesterday and Today
(Volume II: Mc-Z)

These volumes (Volumes I and II) are companion works of the previously published Vonore: Yesterday and Today. This earlier work provided a continuing history of the Vonore area from the earliest explorations to the present era, As such; it presented a panorama of events shaping the area from a cultural, economic and business standpoint. But these events required actual living persons as participants. These later volumes, entitled Vonore Families: Yesterday and Today (A - Mc) and Vonore Families: Yesterday and Today (Mi - Z), provide a documentation of the persons and families living through these times. These later works stand on their own as individual genealogies of the families of the Vonore area throughout the years with many families traced back to their English, German, Scottish, Irish, French, or other ancestral roots. Some families are recorded as extending back to Native American or Cherokee heritage.

Each family, indeed each person, is worthy of a written history all of their own, but time and space preclude such a presentation. These books do attempt to record the individual genealogies, and in some cases, a history of the family names or short stories carried down through the years about the colorful personages who have graced the scene in this area often referred to as God's Country. When available, pictures of individuals and families are included. As such, this text with its rich pictorial documentation should be useful to genealogical and historical researchers. But primarily, it is hoped that these volumes will prove to be treasured family heirlooms of the individual families, and, as such, create a pride in family, which is fast fading from the nation's consciousness.

The list below provides families in alphabetical order as presented in this Volume II. In some cases, the given name of the oldest member of the family that we had in our research is provided. Volume II also contains family genealogies and articles submitted too late to be included in proper alphabetical order in Volume I and have, thus, been included in this Volume II.

These are Vonore Families of yesterday and living descendants of today.
