Jones on Thursday, June 15, 2000
- I am looking for information on my g-g-grandmother, Louisa
CLARK. She was born 7/8/1823 very possibly in Washington Co.,
VA. She married Robert Orr HOBACK (b. 5/25/1820 in Shoals, Wayne
Co., VA) on 9/17/1840 in Cabell County, VA. Robert Orr HOBACK
was the son of John Franklin HOBACK and Mary Ann ORR. J.F. & M.A.
HOBACK lived out their lives in/near Wytheville. After their
marriage, Louisa and Robert moved to Andrews Co., MO, and then
on to Otoe and Cass Counties in NE, where they settled for the
remainder of their lives. Their youngest daughter, Minnie, was
my g-grandmother. She informed her children that Louisa CLARK
was a grand niece of William Clark, the explorer, but I have
yet to find that tie. I am needing to find ANY information on
parents/siblings of Louisa CLARK. Please e-mail me with any information
you may have....Thank you!

- Surnames of interest: SELLS; McDONALD Peter Sells DOB Jan.20,1987;
Hannah McDonald DOB March 13, 1790 first child, Margaret, DOB
June 5, 1808 Unverified data says they were married in Abingdon,
VA. No date given, but from the birth of child I would estimate
their marriage date 1807 - 1808. Hannah was the daughter of Daniel
McDonald and Sophia Graham McDonald. They were supposedly married
at Culpeper County Court-house but the records were apparently
destroyed during the Civil War. Both the McDonalds and Sells
subquently moved to Tennessee. I wish to verify Peter and Hannah's
marriage. Any help would be appreciated!
