Four of the five photos I have attached (Photos 1, 3, 4 & 5) were in the memorabilia of my  great Aunt, Martha “Mat” Virginia Ramey (1901‐1984). My Aunt Mat was the daughter of William Walter Ramey (1862‐1933) and his second wife, Laura Ellen Stewart (1873‐1956). All four photos in herpossession were colorized tintype photos and I would think, very fancy for that day. I am assuming that they are of two couples, an older married couple and a younger married couple. These four photos may have been taken around the same time. Since one of the photos appears to be a soldier in uniform one can probably assume that the photos may have been taken sometime between 1861 and 1865, the Civil War era. This assumption allows the matching of the older female with the older man (William HenryRamey) and so on. These assumptions may not be accurate but at this point in time, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it until proven otherwise.

If you can provide any information on any of these photos, please contact Dan Ramey at [email protected]

wpe4.jpg (94595 bytes) Picture of these children in my aunt's possession and we have no names.
My research has found that my g-grandmother had 3 children from her
first marriage and I wonder if this could be them.

Eliza Carter Mann Strong, b 1856 - first married James M. Mann b 1849
They had 3 children:
Henry C. Mann, b 1878
William Benton Mann b 1879
Hettie Mann b 1881

Any info about these, please contact Wilma Willen, [email protected]
wpe6.jpg (57126 bytes) Can anyone identify this beautiful young lady? Back of picture simply
says "Martha". She could possibly be "Martha Carter", who married
Samuel Guthrie Pendleton in 1866. My g-grandmother had an aunt Martha
Carter, but that's the only family connection I could find. Martha
Carter Pendleton and her newborn baby died during childbirth less than
1 year after her marriage.
Could this be Martha Carter Pendleton? Anyone info, please send an
email to [email protected]

Ida Carter ?

Florra Carter ?
wpeC.gif (209229 bytes)
Minnie or Monnie ?
These photos were in my aunt's collection, but we have not
confirmed their identities. I believe all 3 beautiful young girls may
be sisters or at least related. A.W. Judd started his photography
business after the Civil War and traveled throughout many states.
These may have been taken in the late 1800s or early 1900s. I have
listed below what is written on the backs of the photos. My
great-grandmother was Eliza Carter Mann Strong, so these girls may or
may not be related to her. If anyone has any information about these
photos please email me - [email protected].
