Division F Block 2a holds four 18ft by 18ft family sections plus two 12ft by 18ft (approximate) areas this Inventory calls "Extensions." Each 18 x 18 ft family section has space for at least ten adult graves and these adult size spaces are numbered (for the purpose of our inventory) one through ten.

In Division C, land closest to the North brick wall was sold as 11 ft x 18 ft plots
and contain grave markers.
Our inventory labels these as "Extensions" so not to confuse them with the standard 18 x 18 ft
sections. Division F Block 2a has
two possible Extension areas by the brick wall. No headstones have been found and no burials are listed
in the City database BUT the City Cemetery Map lists owners for these Extensions.
The space numbers in the lists below refer to the location of the grave marker
and not necessarily the location of the body. Sometimes a grave marker sits
in between two spaces and is labeled to reflect that (e.g. 1/2 sits in the middle
of space 1 and space 2). The marker may have been originally placed in that
location or shifted to that area due to soil erosion. If a grave marker holds
more than one name we have not attempted to guess which space holds which body
unless a footstone or other evidence makes the placement clear. It is common to
find two or three markers in one "grave" space, especially where children have been buried.
Thanks to Doug Valentine for performing the on-site inventory for this area on 9/5/01

NOTE: GEORGE B. BAILEY is listed in City burial records. No date of death or grave number is provided in the records.
NOTE: Two corner markers "B" were found--at the SE and SW corner of the plot.
NOTE: City cemetery map dtd 5/22/1933 indicates this section owned by Charles E. Bailey.
NOTE: Grv numbering in City cemetery records does not correspond with the grv placement found in our inventory.
DIVISION F BLOCK 2 SECTION 8
Space 1-----CHARLIE HUBERT BAILEY (d. 1863)
Space 2-----NO MARKER FOUND
Space 3-----NO MARKER FOUND
Space 4-----NO MARKER FOUND
Space 5-----NO MARKER FOUND
Space 6-----NO MARKER FOUND
Space 7-----JAMES N. BAILEY (d. 1926)
Space 8-----NO MARKER FOUND
Space 9-----NO MARKER FOUND
Space 10----C. W. BAILEY (d. 1880?)
NOTE: A published obituary for DR. RICE GARLAND BAILEY (d. 1893) reports his "interment was at Maplewood." City cemetery records do not list Rice Bailey and no marker has been found. It is likely Rice Bailey would be buried here at Section 8 or in Section 7 with his sons and grandchildren.
NOTE: CHARLES E. BAILEY is listed as buried at Maplewood in a Daily Progress article dtd 1902 reporting Confederate graves at the cemetery. Charles is listed in City Cemetery records as the owner of the Bailey sections but is not listed in the Cemetery Database. It is likely Charles would be buried here at Section 8 or in Section 7 with his father, children and other relatives.
NOTE: Space 10 is assumed to be the grave of C. W. BAILEY since that name is listed in City Cemetery Database. Only a footstone inscribed "C.W.B." exists.
NOTE: An overgrown stand of old boxwood is concealing many grave spaces and some grave markers here. The area is filled with beer cans and empty food wrappers and other garbage--an area obviously used for concealment by inappropriate nighttime visitors.
NOTE: Two corner markers "B" were found under the boxwood at the NE corner of Grv 3 and NW corner of Grv 8. Bailey graves continue past these "B" markers.
NOTE: City cemetery map dtd 5/22/1933 indicates this section owned by "Happy." No burials with those surnames exist here or anywhere at Maplewood.
NOTE: Grv numbering in City cemetery records do not correspond with the grv placement found in our inventory.
DIVISION F BLOCK 2 SECTION 8 EXTENSION
NOTE: No evidence of graves exist here yet City cemetery map dtd 5/22/1933 indicates the area is owned by "Ford." No Ford burials are listed in City Cemetery Database.
