Division D Block 2 holds four 18ft by 18ft family sections. Each family section has space for at least ten adult graves and these adult size spaces are numbered (for the purpose of our inventory) one through ten.

                         6 7 8 9 10
             South North
                         1 2 3 4 5

The space numbers in the lists below refer to the location of the grave marker and not necessarily the location of the body. Sometimes a grave marker sits in between two spaces and is labeled to reflect that (e.g. 1/2 sits in the middle of space 1 and space 2). The marker may have been originally placed in that location or shifted to that area due to soil erosion. If a grave marker holds more than one name we have not attempted to guess which space holds which body unless a footstone or other evidence makes the placement clear. It is common to find two or three markers in one "grave" space, especially where children have been buried.

NOTE: City cemetery map dtd 1933 lists C. M. Brand as owner of this section. No deed found for this section so far.
NOTE: City cemetery records list C. M. Brand at Grv 2 and Mrs. C. M. Brand at Grv 1 without dates of deaths.
NOTE: I believe the Brands at graves 1 and 2 are CHILES MERIWETHER BRAND d. 1861, AND ELIZABETH BRYANT BRAND. Their daughter, Mary Jane Brand Pinkard is buried at Grv 8.
NOTE: City cemetery records locate Mary Jane Pinkard at Grv. 3. Her headstone exists, shows no indications of having been moved, and is at Grv 8.
NOTE: An obituary, undated but obviously from the Daily Progress, exists and states DR. RICHARD O. PINKARD is buried at Maplewood. Richard is the son of Mary J. Pinkard and could be buried in this section.
NOTE: No corner markers or coping found.

Thanks to Meredith Chapman for completing the inventory for this section on 10/27/01.
