Division A Block 6 holds two 18ft by 18ft family sections. Each family section has space for at least ten adult graves and these adult size spaces are numbered (for the purpose of our inventory) one through ten.

                               6 7 8 9 10
            South North
                               1 2 3 4 5

The path to the north of these two family sections has been used for burials. When encountering path burials our inventory staff used four grave spaces as a possible arrangement.

The space numbers in the lists below refer to the location of the grave marker and not necessarily the location of the body. Sometimes a grave marker sits in between two spaces and is labeled to reflect that (e.g. 1/2 sits in the middle of space 1 and space 2). The marker may have been originally placed in that location or shifted to that area due to soil erosion. If a grave marker holds more than one name we have not attempted to guess which space holds which body unless a footstone or other evidence makes the placement clear. It is common to find two or three markers in one "grave" space, especially where children have been buried.

NOTE: Maplewood's exterior brick wall provides a place for drinking and drugging and this section is often littered with bottles, food remains and even sleeping bags.
NOTE: City Database lists Richard Mathews as owner of this section.
NOTE: City Database lists the following five additional burials at this section with no grave numbers or dates of burial: MASWELL, MISS MATHEWS, MATHEWS, MATHEWS, MATHEWS.

NOTE: City Database lists James W. Saunders as owner of this section.
NOTE: City Database lists Lindsay Saunders at grv 6 and Pilgrim Saunders at grv 7. No death dates given. I suspect "Pilgrim" is a misreading of PEGRAM. Also, could these tiny stones have been given a surname Saunders in the Database just because they sit in the Saunders family section?

DIVISION A BLOCK 7 SECTION 2 PATH

Space 1/2---IDA ARMSTRONG SALTSMAN d. 1918
Space 1/2---WILLARD GRAY SALTSMAN d. 1912
Space 1/2---JAMES SALTSMAN d. 1912 d. 1918
Space 3-----
Space 4-----
NOTE: City Database lists Willard Saltsman and Ida Saltsman as owners for this path area. It identifies the area as part of Section 2 and lables grave spaces as Ida at Grv 5, James at Grv 10 and Willard at Grv 9.

DIVISION A BLOCK 7 SECTION 3

There is no such section at Maplewood. City Database lists Flora C. Thompson d. 11/9/1988 buried at this imaginary section. Flora has been found buried at "Oakwood," another city owned cemetery.
