MARY FLETCHER WELLS UTZ
Parents of Mary are believed to be John H. Wells and Ann E. Summerson. They were married in Albemarle 2/28/1855. Mary is the wife of John J. Utz, also buried at Maplewood. There were married in Albemarle 10/5/1868. No children are mentioned in Mary's or John's obituaries.

Mrs. Mary F. Utz Dies in Richmond

Former Resident Expires at Confederate Home
Mrs. Mary Fletcher Utz, of this
city, died at an early hour this morning at the Confederate Home in Richmond.
The body will reach here on a late train this evening and the interment will
take place in the family section in Maplewood cemetery at 8 o'clock tomorrow
afternoon, the service to be conducted by the Rev. L. C. Northern, pastor of the
High Street Baptist church. Mrs. Utz was, before marriage, Miss Mary F. Wells,
daughter of the late John Wells, of Manchester, Va., and was about 79 years of
age. She married Mr. John Utz, who was a carriage maker here for over fifty
years. Since his death about ten years ago she had made her home in
Richmond.
