SAULS, SALLE - Am researching the Sauls family. I have never found an immigrant by that name, but am wondering if the Abraham Sauls whose will around 1735 is the immigrant, Abraham Salle who came to Isle of Wight Co. about that time. I saw an abstract of the Sauls will and his sons, Abraham and John are mentioned. They apparently left Va. for the Carolinas and my gggrandfather was born in S.C. in 1802. His father's name is given as John and John's father as Abraham. Where could I find resources in your county to find this change of name, if it was, and are there any Sauls families still there? RANDOLPH, LEE, VAIL - Would like to locate information on descendents of Wm. (d. Surry co 1826) & Hannah (Browne) (d. prob York co 1843-50) Randolph. Three of their four children; Richard H. (c1812-1895), Mary A. E. Lee (c1815-1892), & Harriet Bathurst E. Vail (c1821-1858) lived in Isle of Wight from c.1850 and left descendents there. I would especially like to know the name of Mary's husband, when & where they were married, and where they lived from 1850-70. She appears as a widow living with her niece, Florence B. Herrant, in Smithfield in 1880. Hannah and the children moved to York co to live with her sister Lucy and her husband Frederick B. Power after Wm. Randolph's death. Harriet was married there in 1845, but there is no marriage there for Mary (York co. appears to lack marriage records from 1850 to 1853). There was another son, Wm. E. E., with whom the family lost touch, as Mary A. E. Lee left a legacy to his children, if any, if they could be found within 2 yrs. of probate (they weren't). I would also like to know where the siblings and their descendents are buried, if anyone knows. I have quite a bit of earlier research on this branch of the Randolphs, which I will be happy to share. DURAND - I am looking for information about the Puritan minister William Durand. He came from Boston to Isle of Wight in the late 1640s to preach the Puritan gospel. In the early 1650s he was forced to leave Isle of Wight and settled in Maryland, along the Severn River. There, he and several other Puritans began a new settlement called Providence. This area later becameAnnapolis. I want to know who his children were (he had 5), where he died and when. I know that he became the Secretary for State for Maryland, but not if he died there. Some say that one of his children was George Durant, my ancestor.

BEALE - I am searching for information on Robert Beale & Holland Brewer Beale, both reported to be the parents of Jordan Beale of Potecasi, NC, Northampton, Co. Willis Beale was Jordan's older brother & head of household in Northampton County, NC per 1810 Census.
