The Genealogical Society
of Page
County, Virginia, (GSPC), a nonprofit organization, was formed in
January of 1990. GSPC was organized through the volunteer efforts of
patrons
of The Page Public Library, 100 Zerkel Street, Luray, Virginia, who
realized
the importance of preserving the records and documents pertaining to
the
lives of our ancestors who once lived in the part of the beautiful
Shenandoah
Valley that became known as Page County. Some of the objectives of GSPC
were:
Unfortunately, due to a lack of volunteers, GSPC was dissolved in 2005. However, our books, newsletters, and all other historical and genealogical items collected by the society over the years will remain at the Page Public Library and will be open to anyone who visits the library. We thank everyone for their support and encouragement over the last 16 years and are extremely sorry to see the end of the society. Teresa Kelley, President Historical
