Martha Frances Snodgrass, whose maiden name was Moss, was born in Henry Co., NC., July 28, 1861, and died in Downing, MO., March 12, 1913; making her stay on earth 51 years, seven months and twelve days.

At the age of six years she, with her parents, moved to Grayson Co., Va., where she grew to woman-hood. Early in life she was converted to God and united with the Primitive Baptist Church at Nnobfork, in Virginia, and lived a devoted Christian till God in his wisdom saw fit to call her to her reward in heaven. Martha, as she was known by all, was a kind and loving woman and had many friends in Missouri, where she lived for six years. She was a loving companion and a devoted mother to our children.

On the 25th day of January, 1911, she had a paralytic stroke in her left side, from which she never recovered. She had to be waited on like a child for over two years; and, during all that time, she could not use her left arm or leg in the least. The last stroke came on Friday evening, March 10th, and she died on Monday. She never could talk or take nourishment after she received her last stroke. WE had the best doctors, but they could do her no good.

Her funeral was preached from St. John 14:27, by Rev. C. R. Green, a Baptist. Her remains were laid to rest in the Old Camp Ground cemetery in Scotland Co., Mo., in the presence of a large circle of friends.
