There are two Henry J. Lights in the 1900 census of Summers Co., W.Va.,  both living in Forest Hill.

The first Henry J. would have been a boy of only 8, so he would not have written this letter.  He was the son of John B. Light and Rebecca “Aunt Duck” Link.

The other Henry J. would have been 31 in 1893.  He was the son of James Light and Martha Tice, who had all moved from Floyd County to Summers Co.  James is listed in Jumping Branch, also in Summers County.  James was the son of John L. Light, brother to John B.   Thus this Henry J. was uncle to the first.  Most certainly this is the one who wrote the letter to James I. McNiel.
