BUTLER -  I am looking for the ancestry of William BUTLER born about 1735 somewhere in Virginia.  At some point he moved to Maryland, where at least one of his sons was born - John R. BUTLER (Aug. 10, 1769).  From Maryland, it appears that William moved back to Virginia and then to what is know Kentucky.  He built Butler's Station in Adair Co. KY in 1789.  The rest of his children are as follows:  David (b. abt 1774), Elkanah "Lcain" (b. abt. 1785), William (b. ?), Isaac (b. ?), Nathan (b. ?), James (b. ?).  Of these children, I dont know where any of them were born.  William also seems to have been in the following places:  Tazewell & Montgomery Counties, VA, and Crab Orchard, VA in 1768.  My goal is to find more details about Williams family.  Any help with this line would be most appreciated.  Thank you in advance for your time!   -- Mac Crawford.

JANNEY, RADFORD -  Searching for information on the children of Burwell and Mary [RADFORD] JANNEY, particularly Jeses who married two Foster sisters.  I have been told that Jesse JANNEY hung himself in Boones Mill, VA.  Have not been able to confirm this.  This was supposedly around 1895.  Could anyone tell me where I might find a record of his death?

FLOYD, ISOM, OGLE, SCOTT, WALKER -  I would appreciate some clues to help me locate property owned in the old Montgomery County/present-day Floyd by William Burrel WALKER and his wife Ann SCOTT.  According to family notes, they purchased 200 acres of land in 1811 on "Boxes Creek of Beaverdam of Little River" from Thomas SCOTT whom I believe to be Ann's brother and son of Mathew David SCOTT and Lucretia [OGLE] SCOTT.   William and Ann WALKER sold this property adjacent to SCOTT in 1824 after they moved to Wayne County, TN.  The purchaser is John FLOYD.  Could this John FLOYD have been the Governor-to-be of the 1830s and Floyd County namesake?   Does anyone know where his property lies?

William B. WALKER's older sister Elizabeth married an officer in the militia of Montgomery County, Jonathan (Alexander?) ISOM.  Does anyone recognize those names as residents in the Floyd area in the late 1700s/early 1800s?

William and Ann's children were: Diane (1812), Burrel, Sarah, George Isom, John Floyd, William Carroll, James Mitchell, Jehu Creed, Rufus Scott, Eliza Ann, Mary A.(1833).

Thanks for your help.  -- Pat

DUNCAN, HATCHER -  I am seeking information on my grandmother, Geraldine "Dinah" [DUNCAN] HATCHER.  She was born in Floyd County, VA, about April 5, 1874 and died in Montgomery County, VA, March 23, 1902.  Her parents were Layfayette and Louisa DUNCAN.  Her paternal grandparents were Hiram (Hyram) and Viola (Vila) Reed DUNCAN.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas and Unis (Eunice) Reed DUNCAN.  Her husband was James Taliaferro HATCHER.  Unfortunately, my grandmother died during that period of time when neither the county nor the state kept death records.  I am seeking to connect with any of her relatives to learn more about her.  My website devoted to her is at:  Betty Purcell.
