UNDERWOOD, TAFT
Taft Underwood , age 82, of Roanoke, died Sunday in a local hospital. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Harry Underwood. Surviving are four sons, William Underwood, David Underwood, Charlie Underwood and Jerry Underwood; one daughter, Caroline Wells; eight grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Underwood; three sisters, Ethel Radford, Lydia Meador, and Florence Boggs, all of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Roger C. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Rakes Cemetery, Floyd County. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel.
